Trivia
- Pocahontas is not going to receive a live-action adaptation as Alan Menken mentioned that it would be impossible due to "modern sensibilities".[6]
- Another film, The Hunchback of Notre Dame was stated to being remade into a live action film, simply titled as Hunchback, had stalled for similar reasons.[7]
- Though it is a live-action adaptation of the characters, Alice in Wonderland is not a remake of the 1951 film and is more adapted from and inspired by Lewis Caroll's original books.
- Tarzan is one of the notable films that is unknown to receive a live-action adaptation by Disney any time soon due to legal issues with the family of Edgar Rice Burroughs.[8] The characters of Tarzan had limited use in the 2000s after the film itself before Disney discontinued using them in subsequent medias following these legalities despite the original Tarzan books being in the public domain. It is rumored Disney still owns the rights to their version of Tarzan due to the character's public domain status due to his cameo in May the 12th Be With You and Once Upon a Studio, not to mention related media in Disney Heroes: Battle Mode, but this is unknown for now.
- Dumbo, Peter Pan & Wendy, The Little Mermaid and Snow White are the only Disney live-action remakes that did not receive the variations of the regular Walt Disney Pictures logo. The former film had the regular 2011 version of the 2006 logo accompanied by a musical score specific for the film, while the three latter use the new 2022 on-screen logo with its new regular fanfare composed by Christophe Beck.
- There was a planned sequel to The Jungle Book as announced after the release of its live action remake in 2016[9] as it would solely use the source material from Rudyard Kipling's original novel[10] while abstaining from the 2003 sequel. Right now, it is currently put in hiatus. The same is for a sequel to Aladdin.
- On April 19, 2025, it was announced that Disney paused development of various remakes indefinitely after Snow White bombed in the box-office.[11] They would later resume again after Lilo & Stitch was successful in the box office and then its sequel was in development.
