Cars: Lightning Racers is an upcoming television series produced by based on the Disney/Pixar franchise of the same name. It is scheduled to premiere in 2027 on Disney Jr.[1]
Synopsis[]
The series follows Lightning McQueen as he takes on fresh challenges and races around Radiator Springs alongside his old pal, Mater, and two new characters: a thrill-seeking drag car named Pipes and a mud-loving monster truck named Miles.[1]

- This series marks the first Pixar show to be made for Disney Jr. and the first to be made for preschoolers in general.
- Unlike Cars on the Road, which had its animation production by Pixar themselves, the series' animation will be produced from Icon Creative Studio who previously worked on various Disney Junior shows and worked heavily on Monsters at Work.[2]
- This marks the first time Pixar has ever co-produced a series with Disney Television Animation since Buzz Lightyear of Star Command.
- This is the sixth television series based on a Pixar film or franchise, after Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Monsters at Work, Dug Days, Cars on the Road, and Dream Productions.
- This is the second Cars TV show where Owen Wilson reprises his role as Lightning McQueen. The first being Cars on the Road.
- This is also the first Pixar TV show to feature John Ratzenberger as a part of the voice cast
- Cheech Marin and Sheryl Lee Ralph previously worked together in the 1988 Disney animated feature film, Oliver & Company.
- Just like in Cars 3, Bob Peterson replaces Michael Keaton as the voice of Chick Hicks in this TV series.
