Just An Adventure
A downloadable game for Windows
In this game you will play as fred as he goes on an adventure to get the stones and Supros ring to gain 10IQ, so that he can get into Garvard. (Note, when you get to the end key items determine the ending, so I suggest only having one key item otherwise the other will be ignored)
Controls: A and D to move, click on objects to interact (I made the cursor turn into a circle with some of the interact-able objects), and use enter to continue dialogue or close an ending.
Sorry if the endings are a bit rushed I planned more with them, but didn’t have time
WEB ALT VERSION HERE: Just An Adventure (gx.games) (not really play tested much, but my engine lets me upload to gx games)
Credits: Zion Arts(me) did all the programming, art, and sound design myself. Really all there is to credit is the software and websites I used. Musescore 4 was used for music, Game Maker Studio 2 was the game engine (used for art too), and I used beepbox and online voice recorder for sfx. Of course, I must give credit to adventure game jam 2023 for being the reason I made this game
If you are leaving a comment on my jam submission please be honest! I want constructive criticism I can use (I am a bit known to debate over the criticism though 😅) So, if you think I a part of the game needs improvement please give ideas if possible. And if you don’t have any ideas that is fine too, I just want to learn as much as I can
Things I believe will be pointed out (I suggest reading after playing)
- GUI shifts when you hit invisible walls
- Menus don’t look very clean/nice
- Loading doesn’t work properly
- Doors look out of place
- Dude drinking coffee in the cafe’s elbow is bent backwards
- Not every interact-able object has the cursor turn into a circle
some of these are laziness, some I genuinely didn’t know what to do, and others are still there from time crunching. If you have ideas or solutions to any of them please tell me.
