Migrated this website on a new server running on Alpine Linux. I am very happy with the change.

Few months back, during the summer, I went to Evoke demoparty and presented the second intro, Matter, that I made with my friend Jon. Maybe i should try to hosts these video capture on something better than youtube.

We presented the intro Temper, that I made with a friend, at Revision this year. This was really awesome to see it on the big screen and to hear peoples reaction.

I've started the hack-quest made by z3bra, this is fun and refreshing. So far it wasn't too technical, check it out here.

I quickly tried openBSD and it's sound server sndio, which sounds very simple that I want to try using it on Linux.

Almost finished the "Intro" production that I will present at revision demoparty this year. For this production I had to write a MIDI file parser, I was supprised at how the internet can be fragil but also how simple it was to write, it took me a good day of work.

Worked on continous collision detection and things kinda started to work. This is "ray-cast" version of GJK collision detection, using the MPR algorithm. I should write something about this collision detection, it is prety neat.

New year! I've spent last two months nerding on my computer.

I've bought a new desktop computer, smaller and quiter, maybe 4 time more performant and consuming less energy (150W power supply instead of 500W)... Well, still probaly not the best ecological choice sigh.

During the past month I've finally setup my own mail server, using dovecot and opensmtpd following this blog post.

I've integrated a network support for bonz allowing to connect to shader live coding jam server faking a Bonzomatic sender.

I've implemented a blender plugin to export a mesh into a custom mesh file format, this is still a work in progress. I wish to show this format when ready, ugh, will it ever be ready.

So far I am having a blast toying around on some personnal projects. Oh yeah and I am working on a demo to be released at Revision this year.

And I've rewrote a part of the "markdown" to html awk parser. Now I can have lists inside quote block!

I have been unemployed for two months now, by choice, and although I have now a lot of so called free time I found that I don't spent my time in front of a computer as much as I would have wanted prior to quitting my job. I am really glad to spend some time just doing other stuff, and somehow I kinda expected this time.

I found myself not very motivated by computer related tasks and programming lately. Mainly because I found it difficult to be motivated by the end goal and it is far to easy to procrastinate on a computer.

Instead of forcing myself to work on personal programming projects, I instead preferred spending this time working on more manual tasks. I found it easier to plan actions and see accomplishment from manual tasks, the progress is often visible, at least on smaller tasks.

During the past two months:

I have drawn a little bit, also tried noodle and oekaki.

I've re-painted a bedroom and laid a new floating wooden floor, I am really pleased with the result.

Spent weeks helping a friend repairing his 5.7m sailboat, Pampero by Amel. Helping with the fiberglass hull repair, hull paint, some woodwork and more. Also helped with the harvesting of honey from ~100 hives, this was a first.

I met cool peoples at Chipwrecked, a 3-day chip-tune music festival held in Bornholm Denmark, which also featured VJing!
