Wenda “Wendy” Jean Longaberger Little, 94, of Dresden, died peacefully, Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Clay Gardens Place of Zanesville.
Born December 16, 1929, in Dresden, she was a daughter of the late J.W. and Bonnie Jean (Gist) Longaberger and a 1947 graduate of Jefferson High School. Wendy worked at the IGA in Dresden, and previously alongside her brother, Dave Longaberger starting out at his restaurant and on to the shops where she would assist him in signing baskets. Wendy was a faithful member of the Dresden United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Dresden.
Surviving is a son, Steven R. (Chris) Little; six grandchildren, Cole (Jeannine) Little, Mindy Little (Chad) Peck, Wendy Little Rushing, Jason (Anna) McBride, David (Amanda) Little, Danielle (Adam) Hardwick; nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; four brothers, Jerry Longaberger, Ritchie Longaberger, Gary (Lynn) Longaberger, and Jeff (Jane) Longaberger; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Little; neighbors and close friends, JD and Darlene Hindel and Adam, Amanda Wilson and sons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert F. Little, who died July 8, 2019; three sons, David, James and Randy Little; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Genevieve (Percy) Hard, Judy (Jan) Swope, Virginia (Dick) Wilcox, Carmen (Ron) Fortney, and Mary Ann (Buck) McCafferty; two brothers and sister-in-law, Larry (Dorothy) Longaberger and Dave Longaberger; and two sisters-in-law, Donna Longaberger and JoAnne Longaberger.
The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the staff of Clay Gardens, Altercare, and Shrivers Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dresden United Methodist Church, 1014 Main Street, Dresden, Ohio 43821, St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 405 Chestnut Street, Dresden, Ohio 43821 or Shrivers Hospice Foundation, 2052 East Pike, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
Family and friends may visit 4:00pm to 7:00pm Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Wells officiating.
Wendy will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Dresden Cemetery, Dresden.
