FREEMAN â Director Jill Hofer has released information about auditions for âJane Eyre,â the musical which will be presented as part of the 2025 Schmeckfest April 3-5. Auditions will be held in the Music Hall on the Freeman Academy campus, Freeman, on Friday, Dec.13, from 6:30-8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 14, from 2:30-4 p.m.
Auditions are open to anyone high school junior age and older and will be held in 10-minute slots. All auditioners are asked to prepare a musical theater song of their choice (up to two minutes in length), as well as a 1- to 2-minute monologue of their choice, showing both vocal range and character interpretation.
The “Jane Eyre” musical includes soulful music that a singer can really sink their teeth into, challenging and rewarding with lyrics that are meaningful and haunting. In order to keep the cast size tight, most roles will be double cast and all members of the cast will be included in the ensemble work. Roles to be filled include the following, and are listed as they will be cast:

⢠Edward Fairfax Rochester â Baritone/Bass, Vocal Range: G4-B2
⢠Young Jane & Amy Eshton â Mezzo, Vocal Range: D5-D4
