Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati believes in enhancing the communities in which we live and work by providing legal services to worthy agencies and individuals in need.
We also believe in supporting the pursuit of justice and equality by taking on pro bono assignments that help those with limited resources gain access to the legal system.

Wilson Sonsini participates in the Pro Bono Institute's law firm challenge, which encourages firms to devote 3 percent of their total billable hours to pro bono activities.

In 2023, Wilson Sonsini attorneys and staff provided more than 95,000 pro bono hours.

The firm's attorneys have provided pro bono assistance to approximately 400 nonprofit agencies in fields such as healthcare, education, the arts, and the environment, as well as to numerous individuals.
Wilson Sonsini Receives ABA’s 2022 Pro Bono Publico Award
On August 5, 2022, the firm was honored with the American Bar Association’s Pro Bono Publico Award at the ABA’s annual meeting in Chicago. The prestigious recognition is presented annually to individual lawyers and law firms “that have enhanced the human dignity of others by improving or delivering volunteer legal services to our nation's poor and disadvantaged.”
The ABA recognized Wilson Sonsini for its long-active civil rights and immigration pro bono work, as well as its increase in scope. Recent highlights include assisting Ukrainian and Afghan refugees, representing one of the largest-ever classes of vulnerable Medicare beneficiaries in a successful trial and affirmance on appeal, and obtaining a historic verdict and $12 million judgment against a former Colombian paramilitary warlord on behalf of family members of an assassinated community activist.
