Masato “Masao” Nakamoto, 100, of Kailua-Kona died July 5 in Kailua-Kona. Born in Kainaliu, he was a chiropractor who practiced in Milwaukee, a member of the Milwaukee Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League and graduated in 1942 from Konawaena High School and in 1953 from the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Ill. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). No services. Survived by children, Kathy (Mark Miller) of Naperville, Ill., Lester (Jeanne) of Jackson, Wis., Carol (Gary Kohlnhofer) of New Berlin, Wis., and Karen (John Coons) of Chicago; brother, Junichi; two sisters-in-law; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews. Lilly Mitsue Yamane
Lilly Mitsue Yamane, 92, of Napoopoo died July 7 at home. Born in Wailuku, Maui, she was a full-time volunteer for Jehovah’s Witnesses and member of the Keokea Congregation. No services. Survived by son, Brian K. (Cynthia) Yamane of Kona; daughter, Gail S. Florentina Ibea Yadao, 90, of Hilo, formerly of Paauilo, died July 19 at home. Born in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was retired from Hirako Farms in Waimea and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa.
