EC wants to inlcude Mobile Accessibility

Pressure is coming from policy, we need to hurry up and not miss our chance from EU.

scribe: even under ISO there is an 18 month cycle.
... may need rethinking W3C process.

George: In addition to 508, there is a call for comments on web accessibility including for attachments. That closes 2?

scribe: certification of readers and content

AWK: Work with ACT - the Accessibility Conformance Testing Subgroup

Janina: Perturbed that language support is abyssimal for multi-lingual content
... add good language markup as part of accessibility
... scoping issues are not just content
... tech support asks condescending questions, is it plugged in, is it turned on
... why do platforms put screenreader on the same audio channels

Kepeng Li, ALibaba reporting on Mobile Accessibility in Alibaba products

<scribe> ... new to the WCAGWG, and maybe parts are covered and some are not covered.

Kepeng: Payment Accessibility guidelines

Janina: We have a subteam under APA WG, to work on accessibility API payments. We want to do the use cases, user scenarios

Judy: There are so many opportunities for new technologies that need accessibility guidance, including driving, virtual reality

Ggeorge: Could CR exit criteria require that the implementations be accessible?

Steve Zilles: We could discuss, but it would be a major increase in the requirements

Ralph: It probably would not work, because it is not the purpose of CR

Janina: The APA is moving forward with work to review before it goes to CR
