<wendy> agendum 1 = request for WCAG 1.0 interpretation regarding tables for layout. http://tinyurl.com/8drxs
<joeclark> I'll call back.
test
wc: what would happen to our
timeline if we ublished a revised WCAG 1.0
... perhaps a subgroup would go away and do a survey and get
changes through quickly
... this also relates to mapping,
jc: googles kyn barteltt nov 2003, recommended this...only objection was can't do 2 things at once...but I don't think we can do both in the short time we have, among other reasons
wc: maybe just an errata of 1.0 would be doable
mc: I agree about difficulties in
doing it. Charles is looking for an interpretation from the WG.
Even if we posted an email to the list with a statement
... if we don't do that credibility will be an issue
<wendy> (an updated errata of wcag 1.0 - http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/WAI-WEBCONTENT-ERRATA
Gian: many organizations have their own erratas...many people expect 2.0 this year...we are holding them back...but an erratta wil give them something to work with....organizaitons are expecting 2.0 any week and are putting off
wc: some are concerned that people might be less likely to move to 2.0 if we do an errata
<wendy> table at: http://www.w3.org/2003/12/wcag10-errata-table.html
wc: 1.0 priority 2 says "use style sheets for layout"
<joeclark> CSS techniques *permit* layout tables if they linearize correctly (an old chestnut, but it is in our techiques): http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG10-CSS-TECHS/#style-alignment
<wendy> table of possible errata from 2003: http://www.w3.org/2003/12/wcag10-errata-table.html
