Yellowstone Might Not Be Done Yet, Y’all

One Dutton’s saying good-bye to Yellowstone, but what about the rest? Industry newsletter Puck was the first to report that the Taylor Sheridan show could potentially return for a sixth season, even though Paramount previously said it would end after five seasons. Deadline confirmed on August 27 that negotiations are in the works for another season led by Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, who play Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, respectively. Yellowstone’s so-called season 5B certainly felt like it could be a logical stopping point, given that the sun is apparently setting on lead character John Dutton. Kevin Costner — who has other projects on the Horizon, after all — has stated that he won’t star in episodes of the show’s next installment, which premieres November 10. Sources told Deadline that while a season-six deal hasn’t been signed yet, the plan is to continue the story of the main show. What, were they running out of years for Yellowstone spinoffs?
