No family entertains us better than the Coppolas, and this year eyes are on grandpa and granddaughter. While Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis premiered at Cannes to stunning confusion, TikTok teen, daughter of Sofia Coppola, and now-musician Romy Mars has been off giving quotes to W magazine about how going viral for brattiness was kind of helpful, actually. “I had a learning lesson,” Mars said of the discourse surrounding her now-infamous TikTok. “It’s nice when people put me in my place a little.” In the short film, the young Coppola complains about being grounded for trying to charter a helicopter using her dad’s credit card because she wanted to have dinner with her camp friend and tries to cook pasta with vodka sauce but doesn’t know the difference between a shallot, onion, and garlic. Rich-girl behavior to be sure, but the richest behavior of all is shrugging it off with a pop career. What else would we want from Italian American royalty?
