Winning Madonna Bootcamp Did, Ultimately, Pay Off for Julia Garner

While participating in Madonna Bootcamp is objectively the experience of a lifetime — one that many drag queens across the nation would kill to participate in — the winner never got her crown … until now. Madonna Bootcamp 2022 winner Julia Garner is getting her prize package after all. The Madonna biopic is back on, and Garner is attached to star, per Entertainment Weekly. Madonna posted a series of photos of herself with a typewriter on July 16 with one photo showing the title page of a script called Who’s That Girl? Garner was initially attached to star in the Madonna-written and -directed biopic in 2022, beating out a slew of other actresses reportedly including Florence Pugh and Alexa Demie, who went through an allegedly high-intensity bootcamp process. Then the movie was canceled in January 2023. We’ll believe it’s really happening once Madonna is on set with “Madame X” on the back of her director’s chair.
