ABC is looking to EGOT. The Grammy Awards are moving to Disney and the network already broadcasts the Oscars. The Grammys, which are currently at CBS, will be simulcast on Hulu, Disney+, and ABC (all owned by Disney) starting in 2027. The Recording Academy is also contracted to make extra “Grammys-branded programming” for the Disney networks, though what that will look like is currently unclear. Notably, the American Music Awards left Disney for CBS in March of this year, so they’re swapping out one music show for another. “As the Walt Disney Company combines forces with the Recording Academy to open this exciting new chapter in the history of the Grammys, we do so with pride and gratitude,” Disney Entertainment co-chairperson Dana Walden said in a statement on October 30. “Live events have never been more important to our culture and industry, and we just acquired one of the crown jewels, adding to our portfolio of world-class programming across all genres.”

Could Disney try to nab all four of the prestigious awards ceremonies? The Emmys currently rotate between the four major networks, landing on ABC every four years, as they did this year. However, that Emmys deal ends in 2026, so there’s certainly opportunity for that to change, if Disney wants to step up. Then, the only thing that mouse would need to do is to nab the theater kids to be the official home of awards season.
