The Fifth Season of Ballers Will Be Its Last

HBO has announced that the fifth season of Ballers, premiering this Sunday, will be its last. Has anyone checked in with Elizabeth Warren to see how she’s taking the news? The premiere sees former partners Spencer (Dwayne “the Baller” Johnson) and Joe (Rob “Also a Baller” Corddry) working at cross-purposes. While Spencer is pulled out of retirement with an offer too good to refuse, Joe takes Sports X to the extreme with his new partner, Lance (Russell “Cricket Ball” Brand).

Johnson confirmed the show’s end on Instagram Thursday, saying his heart “is full of gratitude to all of you for rockin’ with us every season.” He thanked the audience for making Ballers the highest-rated HBO comedy for years. “To me, the opportunity Ballers created for so many others, is the real gold of our show,” he wrote.
