Industry Roundup: Cooper, Reynolds

Radley: The tan and chiseled Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper, real-life friends (!), will be starring in a movie together. The duo are attached to star in an untitled original action-comedy written by Sheldon Turner (Up in the Air). The story follows two friends, both San Francisco cops, whose fathers were once partners on the force; the dads are “forced out of retirement to help their sons crack a case.” The film is aiming for an “updated Lethal Weapon flavor that plays into edgier R-rated territory.” No, you’re not dreaming: Bradley Cooper and Ryan Reynolds are actually co-starring in an “edgy” movie about San Francisco policemen friends. Welcome To The D.C., Bitch: Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are developing a Washington D.C.-set drama under their new Fake Empire banner. ABC has given a put pilot order to the project, which will focus on a group of young roommates who “juggle their personal and professional lives in Washington.” Will Fetters (Remember Me) is writing the script. Let’s hope this show brings more drama than the so-far-snooze-worthy D.C. Real Housewives are delivering. [Variety]

Anything But Ordinary: Twilight vamp Jackson Rathbone (who plays Jasper Cullen) will be joining another supernaturally-tinged project. Rathbone will be taking on a potentially recurring role on ABC’s No Ordinary Family. He’ll play Trent Stafford, a high school classmate of telepath Daphne (Kay Panabaker). Trent was recently the victim of a home invasion robbery, and we’re guessing that means Daphne will be helping to solve the crime before, of course, managing to win his heart. [Ausiello Files/EW]

Nudist Swap: Joe Lo Truglio (Superbad) is replacing Fred Armisen in the part of nudist Wayne Dunbar in the film Wanderlust, the Judd Apatow-produced comedy starring Jennifer Aniston, Paul Rudd and Justin Theroux. Well, if there’s any time to start that diet you’ve been putting off since New Year’s, Joe Lo, it’s now. [Deadline]

Hill Country: Ari Graynor (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist) has scored the female lead opposite Jonah Hill in The Sitter, the David Gordon Green-directed Fox comedy. Graynor will be playing Hill’s girlfriend. [Deadline]

Trio For Trespass: Three actors you probably don’t know - Ben Mendelsohn (Animal Kingdom), Dash Mihok and Liana Liberato (Trust) - are joining two you probably do - Nicole Kidman and Nicolas Cage - in the Joel Schumacher-directed action-adventure film Trespass. [Variety]
