At Marcos Fecchino and Tucker Brown’s Sicilian Wedding Weekend, the Dancing Continued Until Sunrise

When fashion creative director and producer Marcos Fecchino and CAA Evolution partner Tucker Brown were both going through breakups in 2014, a mutual friend decided to intervene and play matchmaker. “Our friend was very insistent on us meeting,†says Marcos. Unlike many setups, this one led to a spark. On November 9, 2022, Tucker popped the question while the pair was on a vacation in Marcos’s native Argentina. “All my family came as a surprise,†says Marcos. “Since we live in America, he wanted to have that moment with my family since we don’t see them very often.â€
On July 11, 130 of the couple’s friends and family members arrived to celebrate their union at Tonnara di Scopello in Sicily. Planning their Italian summer wedding was “supersmooth and fun,†shares Marcos. “Since I am a producer, I trust the process and that things will get done eventually. Also, I know what I want things to look like, and I think that makes it easier with less back-and-forth.†Wedding planner Chiara Raine of Avenue Cipresso also took charge to help them execute their three-day affair.
The festivities began with a seated dinner alongside the ocean. For the Thursday welcome event, the grooms both donned suits with a touch of color and Italian influence by P. Johnson Tailors. “I absolutely love their style—classic with a twist,†says Marcos. “I wore my everyday baby blue Converse that I think spoke to who I am.†Spanish guitar played throughout the cocktail hour as guests arrived and mingled. “As the sun was setting, we announced the official start of the wedding weekend over a megaphone as they hoisted a custom ‘MT’ navy and white flag up the flagpole, positioned on a rocky peninsula by the ocean,†share the grooms. An Italian family-style dinner began, and guests sat according to a seating chart that encouraged new connections and friends among different groups. After a tiramisu dessert and toasts by Marcos’s parents and Tucker’s mom, guests hit the dance floor as a DJ who was flown out from Buenos Aires played until 1 a.m. “A number of guests stripped down for a midnight dip in the ocean, and the Argentine contingent hosted an after-party in their casita that lasted until the early-morning hours,†say the grooms.
While the party may have ended shortly before, the next day was filled with a full schedule of games and activities at the Tonnara. “A highlight was the beer pong tournament in the afternoon with 25 teams competing,†note the grooms. “For the championship game, we set up a table knee-deep in the ocean for an added element of fun, with guests gathered at various points by the water to spectate.â€
The aesthetic and fashion for that evening’s pizza and cocktail party in the town square was inspired by Loewe. The grooms both wore custom designs for the party. “Jonathan [Anderson] and Loewe were incredibly supportive throughout the wedding weekend,†says Marcos. “I love how their pieces are very classic but add a contemporary element.†Loewe candles and custom floral arrangements added charm to the low-key, casual atmosphere of the event. The night wrapped with gelato around 11 so the grooms and guests could rest up for the big day ahead.
The morning of the wedding day, a group of 75 guests hopped into the Mediterranean for a swim out to a nearby island. “The wedding-day swim is a tradition in our family,†shares Tucker. After a day of lounging by the sea, the grooms suited up together in relaxed-fit tuxedos by P. Johnson Tailors. “We wanted to keep the ceremony simple but still social,†explain the grooms. Guests arrived for cocktails against the backdrop of the water as a jazz quartet played. Then the pair walked out hand in hand with their parents to Gregory Porter’s “If Love Is Overrated.†“My brother, Nick, officiated, which made the whole experience very familiar, cozy, and special since he knows us both so well,†says Tucker. Marcos’s siblings Fefo and Catalina gave readings during the ceremony. After exchanging vows, the couple recessed to George Michael’s “Faith.†Marcos adds, “We thought it was the right choice for a gay wedding.â€
Guests enjoyed an aperitivo featuring Sicilian antipasti and an oyster bar along the sea, before heading to the reception in a string-light-filled courtyard. Dinner featured the grooms’ favorite meal, veal Milanese, and speeches from Marcos’s best friend, Pilar, and Tucker’s dad. Next up? “The party moved to the dance floor to commence a 10-hour dance marathon,†share the newlyweds. “At 1 a.m. when the ‘main’ wedding party concluded, guests were lured with tequila shots and espresso martinis to the ‘rave cave,’ a dungeonlike space at the venue that had been outfitted with lights and smoke machines to set the tone for the after-party. Stefan, flown in from Sweden, played disco and upbeat dance tunes to keep the party vibes high.†Around 5 a.m., the grooms’ friend Jack Simonds took over the tracks to wrap up the party. “At sunrise, with music still at full blast, the late-night crew (over 50 guests strong) moved to the beach for sunrise swimming and dancing, before the last holdouts finally called it a night (or morning) around 8:30 a.m.,†share the grooms.
As they look back on the beautiful weekend, the pair say they feel grateful: “We wish we could live it all over again.â€
