Best friends, It-girls and supermodel scions Lila Moss and Grace Burns have travelled everywhere from the Hamptons to the White Isle together, but their approach to holiday dressing is a study in contrasts. While Burns takes after her mother, Christy Turlington Burns, with a more minimalist MO (“I pack in about five minutes, then have to steal from Lila’s suitcase…”), Moss is a confirmed – and proud – overpacker. “Check-in bags all the way!” says the Brit. Here, the pair share the style essentials that accompany them from Milanese catwalks to Miami beaches, along with their favourite travel destinations around the world.

“I only travel with carry-ons, and basically just throw in a tonne of Hanky Pankies…”

“Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey is one of my beauty staples.”

“I’m at college in New York City, but I love doing trips upstate. I’ve been going to the Catskills since high school and the Storm King Art Center in the Hudson Valley is on my list to hit next.”

“My boyfriend is physically incapable of going through duty-free without picking something up, so I’ve been wearing a pair of Polaroid Eyewear sunglasses he bought when I travel.”

“I will always make room in my luggage for a jumpsuit. Sabina makes some of the best.”

Le Grand Spa in Gstaad sprawls over more than 3,000 square metres.

“I bring a vintage Pentax on almost every trip I take; it belonged to my mom in the ’80s.”

“The saunas at Le Grand Bellevue in Gstaad, where I stayed recently, are incredible.”

“I just came back from a road trip through Maine where I did a lot of hiking. Now I’m fixated on doing the Appalachian Trail all the way down to Georgia.”

“This summer, I visited Les Rencontres d’Arles – the photography exhibitions are incredible.”

“I brought The Girls by Emma Cline on holiday with me to Nicaragua recently; it kept me on the beach until 9pm.”

“I’m never without YSL Beauty LoveShine Candy Glaze in my bag.”

“Seeing Easter Island, off the coast of Chile, is on my bucket list.”

“I just lost my favourite sunglasses from Khaite in Ibiza – devastating…”

“Birkenstock’s Boston clogs are the ideal beach shoes.”

“I wore the same Bowery earrings from Pistache all summer long.”

Palm Heights in Grand Cayman is an A-list magnet.

“I’m a journaller, so I collect receipts, hotel keys, and postcards, and stick them in after a trip. Magnets are great souvenirs, too – the kitschier, the better.”

“The card game Mafia is essential if you’re travelling with a group. Grace and I played it constantly on a trip to Nicaragua.”

“I’ve recently been converted to sarongs – you can use them as a skirt, a cover-up, a dress – and I’ve fallen in love with the Italian label Painting Silhouette’s bikinis.”

“Diptyque Do Son is the perfect fragrance for warm nights, and Ultra Violette makes an SPF that actually smells amazing; I use factor 50.”

“I love intense sound baths and Palm Heights in Grand Cayman does the best.”
