They are known for timeless hits like “Yearning For Your Love,” “You Dropped A Bomb On Me,” and “Outstanding,” the last of which remains one of the most sampled songs of all time, according to WhoSampled.
The 13-time GRAMMY nominee’s first solo album was 2000’s Bridging the Gap, which scored Wilson his first No. 1 Billboard Urban Adult Contemporary single, “Without You.” Throughout his successful solo endeavors, he was named Billboard’s Top Adult Male R&B Artist twice (2009, 2020), and received a BET Lifetime Achievement Award, a Soul Train Icon Award, a Soul Train Certified Soul Award, and a NAACP Music Makes a Difference Award. The “You Are” singer has also collaborated with the likes of Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, and more.
