میرے ہم عمر وہ کہاں گئے

وہ کہاں گئیں سبھی رونقیں

جنھیں تم کہہ کر پکارنا

وہ کہاں گئیں سبھی قربتیں

وہ جن کے آگے بناوٹیں،نہ عداوتیں،نہ رکاوٹیں

وہ جن کے سنگ تھیں فرصتیں

اور محبتیں اور حلاوتیں

میرےہم عمر ،میرے ہم عصر میرے ہم نوا، میرے ہم سفر

جو تھے بے تکلف کچھ اس قدر

نہ آپ جناب کے ضابطے

نہ کدورتیں نہ رنجشیں

نہ حسرتیں نہ ملاوٹیں

میرے ہم عمر وہ کہاں گۓ

کہ میں ڈھونڈتا ہوں چار سو

کوئ پکارے اور کہا کرے

“کہاں ہے تو ،میرے ہم عمر”

چلو آؤ پھر سے شروع کریں

وہی محفلیں،وہی چاہتیں

وہی فرصتیں اور حماقتیں
