Leaked documents have unequivocally proven that the United Kingdom has been running a large-scale and well-funded program to plaster the Western media with anti-Russian propaganda and Twitter wants you to know that these materials were obtained through hacking. Meanwhile, just a few weeks ago, the connections between American Big Tech and these sundry programs were... Read More
Several months ago, I speculated why Twitter would suspend the Valdai Club (a milquetoast discussion group that largely centers around economics issues and has a large component of systemic liberals within in). Now we have an answer. RT: Twitter is an American company and it's long been clear that it is used along with Facebook... Read More
Credit where credit is due - Navalny has come out against Trump's deplatforming. (He posted the same thing in Russian). The brighter Blue Checks RT'ed this, saying, OK, good points, though I respectfully disagree. Some of the duller Blue Checks and Russiagaters in the replies attacked Navalny, calling him a Russian nationalist, expressing "disappointment" in... Read More
He monitored the situation. Pretty successful poasting career though.
Russian Duma to consider law on blocking foreign social media that censor the free speech of Russian citizens: Blogging about this a bit late - it was introduced three weeks ago - but this is partially Even though I have long conclusively confirmed that PUTLER reads my blog, he is still a boomer at heart,... As with wokeness, blackpill seems the safer bet. Emil Kirkegaard noted that Amren is now banned from Twitter (including in DMs). This is not a one off, some searching shows that DavidDuke.com was banned a couple of months ago. So I would agree with Emil that there's a very good chance bet that hyperlinks to... Read More
RT: Could they be blocked? Russia refuses to grant extension to Facebook & Twitter over demand to store citizens’ data inside country In related news: (1) Twitter has gone from labeling Russian (and Chinese) state news channels "state affiliated media" (while failing to extend the same standards to Western state-owned outlets such as RFERL, or... The wages of relying on hostile foreigners for your IT infrastructure: Tsargrad TV has been permanently kicked off YouTube. This isn't just some random blogger or streamer - it's an accredited Russian media organization with its own TV channel, a central office in central Moscow, and as of yesterday, around a million subscribers on YouTube.... Big Habbening on Twitter. Large-scale Bitcoin scam affecting high profile Blue Checkmark accounts, from Obama to Elon Mask. Hacker made off with something like $10 million. Even some minor circumstantial evidence that legendary Nazi troll hacker weev was behind it. All the Blue Checkmarks have been silenced until @jack figures out what is going on.... Read More
Soon after my shadowbanning on Twitter, I made some comments on this issue to Artyom Alexandrov, a journalist for a Russian news website: As I also told the journalist, Russia doesn't have any principled position on Internet freedom of speech - Roskomnadzor already blocks bookmakers (including predictions markets like PredictIt), some political websites (mostly nationalist),... So as you might have heard Facebook has banned The Unz Review from its entire site. You can't link to it on your Wall, in closed groups, or even mention it in private communications. It has become The Website That Must Not Be Named, like South Front just a few days ago - another website... Read More
I am pretty bad with these puns. But this one might just be SSC-worthy. One of my goals for the rest of Anti-Bolshevik Month is to write a comprehensive alternate history in which the Russian Republic survives WW1. Randall Parker's question on Twitter: "Imagine a time traveler goes back to 1913 and kill Hitler, Stalin,... Read More
It will be the centenary of the October Revolution in a couple of days - the original color revolution that finished off a great and rapidly modernizing empire and handed power to a gang of Russia-hating criminals. To mark the occasion, the next two weeks I will be documenting the dismal failure of sovok across... Read More
A couple of weeks ago, Ukraine passed an edict banning access to a host of Russian web services including VKontakte and Odnoklassniki (Russia's Facebook, and most popular social network in Ukraine, with 13 million users; Odnoklassniki is 4th, with 9 million users; for comparison, Facebook is 8th with 5.6 million users, though tellingly it is... I would like to thank everyone for participating in the Reader Poll 2016. The responses have been very helpful and have helped spur me on to make some strategic changes to the way I'll proceed with my blogging forthwith. First off, it's good to know that the average "quality of posts" mark was 4.2/5, so... Read More
My response to Snowdengate, the new Graph Search, its inevitable integration with Google Glass? I will be minimizing my privacy settings and for all intents and purposes making my Facebook public. So good ahead, look up my profile. Friend me. Whatever. I don't mind. Sounds counter-intuitive, huh? There's a logic behind the madness. It's now... Read More
Mashable tells students about 12 things they should never do in social media. By now this doesn't apply to me, as between my non-anonymous Russophilia, HBD-ing, gaming, and AGW-ing I've long ostracized myself from both liberals and conservatives and torpedoed myself any hopes of "respectable" employment anyway. I do however wonder about the point of... Read More
In the Japanese TV series Dennō Coil, people wear Internet-connected augmented reality glasses and interact with a world that is now split between the real and the virtual. Citizens and netizens become one. The story is set in 2026, some eleven years after the introduction of this technology. Considering that this series was first conceived... Read More

About Anatoly Karlin

I am a blogger, thinker, and businessman in the SF Bay Area. I’m originally from Russia, spent many years in Britain, and studied at U.C. Berkeley.

One of my tenets is that ideologies tend to suck. As such, I hesitate about attaching labels to myself. That said, if it’s really necessary, I suppose “liberal-conservative neoreactionary” would be close enough.

Though I consider myself part of the Orthodox Church, my philosophy and spiritual views are more influenced by digital physics, Gnosticism, and Russian cosmism than anything specifically Judeo-Christian.
