Lease reviews, security deposit concerns, evictions, roommate agreements, subleasing questions, and even litigation. We can assist you with almost any landlord-tenant need.

Our Director assists the 830+ student groups on campus with their various legal needs. For all questions regarding applying for an EIN, drafting Bylaws, how to Incorporate or become an official IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit, an officer of the group must sign up for one of our weekly Student Group clinics. Contact our office to sign up for a clinic. All new groups or officers must attend one of our weekly information clinics prior to scheduling an individual appointment for your student group.  We also present to student groups upon request about implementing good Risk Management practices to protect your organization from liability.

Our office is advice only on traffic/criminal, but we walk you through everything you need to know to prepare you for court so you can handle your case with ease. We do however represent on most NC expunctions to help you clear your criminal record.  

Our office is happy to assist students that desire to change their name in NC or their gender marker on their NC birth certificate.

We do not advise for-profit businesses or advise on any matters related to Intellectual Property such as Copyright, Trademark and Patent matters.  We can provide a list of referrals for business related matters such as starting a for-profit business, non-disclosure agreements, partnership agreements, intellectual property, and tax matters.

We represent in ​most domestic violence and uncontested divorce cases, as long as the other party is not a UNC student, ​and the matter can be filed in Orange, Durham, Wake or Chatham counties. We also provide limited advice and referrals on other family law matters.

From debt collection to identity theft, defective products and towing cases, let us help you with your consumer troubles.

All four of our staff members are notaries.  We provide notary 

services to current students, faculty, and staff.  We do not notarize I-9 forms, and we cannot verify the authenticity of a document.

Our office contracts with an immigration attorney to provide brief initial consultations for students with immigration matters. 

We provide advice on general employment matters such as application questions, contract review, filing for unemployment, and wage and hour disputes.  We provide referrals for students that have more specific employment issues such as possible discrimination, ADA claims, and wrongful termination.

Our office collaborates with UNC Athletics, the UNC Law School,  and the NC Bar Association Sports and Entertainment Law Division to provide limited advice and referrals for UNC students with questions about Name, Image and Likeness contracts. 

We provide advice and assistance with drafting wills and power of attorney documents to help you prepare for your future.
