This weekend, partake in a plethora of festivities at the Hamilton County Fair, shop for the season at several Christmas markets or watch the University of Tennessee Vols baseball team play at AT&T Field. ARTS

— Photographic Society of Chattanooga continues its autumn show at the Gallery at Blackwell, 71 Eastgate Loop. Society members will have their works on display and available for purchase. Gallery hours are 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. The autumn show will run through Dec. 6. Learn more at chattanoogaphoto.org.

— North River Civic Center, 1009 Executive Drive, Suite 102, Hixson, continues "Spices of Fall," a celebration of hues and textures from nature trails, both global and local. — In-Town Gallery, 26A Frazier Ave., continues its 50th holiday show, "Shine!," featuring works that celebrate the season of goodwill, togetherness and giving. — ClearStory Arts, 1673 S. Holtzclaw Ave., continues its exhibition, "Practical Elegance: The Fusion of Craft and Function," featuring works of wood, ceramics, fiber and more. Gallery hours are by appointment. The exhibition will run through Dec. 21. Learn more at clearstoryarts.com.

— Southern Adventist University's School of Visual Art and Design will host an opening reception for a student exhibition at 6 p.m. Thursday in the John C. Williams Art Gallery inside Brock Hall on the university's campus, 4881 Taylor Circle. The exhibition, entitled "Femininity & Fragility in Flesh," features sculptural works by senior fine art major Diana Alarcon. The exhibition will run through Nov. 18. — Association for Visual Arts, 30 Frazier Ave., will conclude Friday two exhibitions. In the Main Gallery, there is a solo exhibition of works by Maria Willison. — Creative Arts Guild, 520 W. Waugh St., Dalton, will host an opening reception from 5:30-7 p.m. Friday for two exhibitions. In Gallery Five20, there is "Mindful," featuring works by Aimee Maschhoff and Renel Plouffe. In Gallery One11, there is "Am I Here?," featuring works by Jill Pope. — Hunter Museum of American Art, 10 Bluff View, will host Art After Dark from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the downtown Chattanooga Public Library, 1001 Broad St. This teen-only event will feature art-making led by Hunter Museum staff, snacks and after-hours access to the library. This event will have attendees practice graffiti lettering and screenprinting, connecting with the museum's current exhibition, "City as Canvas." The program is free for teens 12-18. — Songbirds, 206 W. Main St., will have two shows this weekend. At 7 p.m. Thursday, there will be an open mic night, with 10 spots available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Admission is free, and donations are encouraged. At 7 p.m. Saturday, Dawson Hollow, with Common Man, will perform. Tickets cost $18 in advance or $20 the day of show.
