Scientific Data Management Research Group

The Scientific Data Management (SDM) group was established in October 2017 under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Maria-Esther Vidal. With her expertise in data management and knowledge engineering, Prof. Vidal leads the group with a commitment to advancing the frontiers of scientific research through innovative data management solutions. Prof. Vidal is also a professor of the Data Science Institute and a member of the L3S Research Center at Leibniz University Hannover. The Scientific Data Management Research Group contributes to the strategic goal of the TIB to support researchers in every phase of scientific work, especially with data. The aim of the research group is to be at the forefront of research and development of research data infrastructures and to support data-intensive applications in science.
