Templegate’s Tote Placepot tips for Saturday’s Ascot card with £150,000 guaranteed

The Placepot is a bet where you select a horse to be placed in the FIRST SIX races of any meeting.

You can pick more than one horse in a race – you just multiply the number of selections in each race to calculate your stake. So for staking it’s 2x2x2x1x2x2 which adds up to 32 lines. 

You can stake what you want upwards from 5p a line which would cost a total of £1.60. 10p a line is £3.20 and so on. Provided at least one in each race is placed, we get a payout!

Ascot Placepot tips - Saturday, December 21

LEG 1: Just Lucky Sivola, Circuit Breaker

JUST LUCKY SIVOLA battled to score at Hereford last time and should improve over this longer distance.

CIRCUIT BREAKER scored by 16 lengths on hurdles debut at Kempton and didn’t enjoy dropping in trip at Haydock last time. This distance suits much better.

LEG 2: Prince Quali, Galop De Chasse

PRINCE QUALI ended last season with two good wins at Chepstow and can improve for a solid seasonal comeback at Newbury last time.

GALOP DE CHASSE has been placed on both starts since returning from a year off and Venetia Williams continues in good form.

LEG 3: Iroko, Fil Dor

IROKO was a massive eyecatcher when second at Haydock on comeback last month. He was a mile back turning for home but made up ground quickly to go down by half a length. He’s been placed at Grade 1 level and stays well so can go one better here. 

FIL DOR has run well in some hot contests last time and has more to offer in this sphere.

LEG 4: Strong Leader

STRONG LEADER can live up to his name provided the ground doesn’t get too testing. He has smart form in decent ground including when winning the Grade 1 Liverpool Hurdle in April. He returned with a smooth win at Newbury and has more to come.

LEG 5: Victtorino, Threeunderthrufive

VICTTORINO took this race 12 months ago and is back from only 1lb higher in the handicap with trainer Venetia Williams enjoying a dream season. Stable jockey Charlie Deutsch is the best around over fences and he can steer him home.

THREEUNDERTHRUFIVE also likes it here and has run well when fresh. It would be no surprise to see him make the frame.

LEG 6: Dysart Enos, Steel Ally

DYSART ENOS made a promising start to her handicapping career when third in the Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham last time. There’s more to come off this handy mark.

STEEL ALLY was an impressive winner last time and can hold his own in this stronger company.
