Hong Kong Airlines will launch a new direct route to Sendai, Japan, on December 18.
The new direct flight will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, allowing travelers to easily visit the heart of Tohoku region.
The four hour flight will transport passengers to the northeast part of Japan, also known as the "City of Trees."
Sendai will be the airline's ninth destination in Japan, with the aim of expanding its coverage there and offering more options for travelers.
Sendai, the capital of Miyagi Prefecture, is famed for its scenic beauty, cuisine and the Tanabata festival.
Matsushima Bay is one of Japan's "Three Most Scenic Spots," which include historical landmarks such as Aoba Castle and Zuihoden Mausoleum.
It is rumored that Hayao Miyazaki gained inspiration for his animation Spirited Away from the famous hot springs Akiu and Ginzan Onsen.
The airline will also increase its flights to Sapporo and Tokyo (Narita) this winter to five flights daily.
