Marisa joined The Spruce in September 2020 as a writer and editor, focusing on large appliances, such as washers and dryers, and fine-tuning her product research and recommendation skills. Marisa became the brand's Senior Editor for Appliances, Cleaning, Organization, and Home Tech in August 2021, and has since helped to design, test, and lead the testing for 100+ vacuums, carpet cleaners, air purifiers, smart home devices, cleaning products and tools, and other home appliances on The Spruce.

She is a passionate and driven content creator who has contributed to several digital outlets, including The Spruce, Elite Daily, Real Simple, and InStyle. She started a lifestyle blog in 2015 in her college dorm room, and became a lifestyle writer after graduating from Quinnipiac University with a journalism degree in 2017. Since then, she's written 1,500+ articles on lifestyle, travel, finance, organization, and more, and she's become The Spruce's in-house vacuum expert.

Her work, including her best vacuums roundup, has always centered around the lifestyle beat and typically has a creative, yet informative tone. As a first-time mom and former college student who studied art and culture in Florence, Italy, she understands the need for products that make life easy, enjoyable, and aesthetic. Marisa has interviewed finance pros, sustainability leaders, travel influencers, and professional organizers—among others—and worked to bring only the best products and most inspiring content to her readers.

She's currently testing (and loving) the Clorox Large Room Air Purifier, Levoit LVAC-200 Cordless Stick Vacuum, and Kindle Paperwhite, which got her back to her hobbies during maternity leave.
