Lauren Thomann is a freelance writer and business owner who is currently renovating a 1916 bungalow. As a vintage enthusiast, she approaches her DIY crafting and home improvement projects with practicality and preservation in mind. She launched Ageless Heirlooms, an online publication about antique jewelry, in 2006. In 2018, Lauren launched Heirlooms at Home, a sister publication, to share info and guidance on antique furniture and older homes. She has completed several diamond and gemstone courses and apprenticeship-style experiences to enhance her knowledge of antiques and gemstones.

Education

Lauren earned a dual bachelor's degree in English and linguistics from the University at Buffalo in 2007.

Lauren is also self-taught and taught through many apprentice-like relationships. Similarly, she completed several diamond and gemstone courses at the Gemological Institute of America in NYC.

To Lauren, learning is a never-ending process. She further develops her skills through various workshops, online courses, and reading. She enjoys a challenge and finding new ways to express herself through the written word.
