Notables at The Riveter
We’ve shared the stories of hundreds of today’s transformational leading women, encouraging Riveters to ask questions about everything from the businesses they’ve built, the pivots they’ve pulled off, and the lessons they’ve learned from messy failures in work and life. Our network is extraordinary and you’re invited to join us for our next conversation. Take a look at some of our past speakers, expert workshop teachers, podcast guests, and newsletter contributors.

We live in a world of ever-changing technology and workforce uncertainty, where women continue to battle a stubborn wage gap and stunning ageism. We’re also humans with seasons of life where we want to work more - and others where we need to work less. We are best prepared to navigate these shifts when we create our own platforms to tell our stories, share our ideas, and connect with the stakeholders who matter to our professional goals.
The Riveter School is here so that when you’re ready to (or need to) pivot, you’re ready to go because you’ve built a solid foundation.
We’ve got you covered.
-
Each week, Amy will share a recorded lesson with tools and systems to help you master storytelling skills to prepare for your next pivot or grow where you’ve landed. We’ll cover everything from figuring out what story you should tell to finding your stakeholders (audience!), creating written content and videos for social media, writing your keynote and more.
-
Amy will open the doors to The Riveter’s unparalleled network to connect you with our remarkable experts *live* so you can hear firsthand how they’ve pivoted, built companies, grown audiences, and defined their own stories. Past Riveter speakers and guests include Robin Roberts, Tori Dunlap, Minda Harts, Amanda Knox, Soledad O’Brien, Abby Wambach, to name a few. We’ll leave plenty of time for *your* questions.
-
You’re invited to join Amy for a live discussion every month covering the storytelling skills we’ve learned. You’ll have the chance to ask questions and ask for feedback on your own storytelling challenges. We ask that everyone who joins us commits to sharing their own experiences to help others grow. There is *so* much power in hearing how likeminded women have made it work.
-
We don’t love the word “community” because it means something different to every woman. Instead, we’ve built a digital network where you’re invited to connect with Amy and others working on the next pivot, honing storytelling skills, and figuring it out day by day. We’ll also share relevant news, trends and - from time to time - perks and benefits from Riveter partners.
-
We’re excited to share 20 storytelling prompts every month so you can start to flex your storytelling muscles. We’ll also keep you apprised of new trends and tools to help you find a community of stakeholders who will hear what you want to share with the world.
-
We’ll invite you to join a small, curated feedback group, where you’ll support one another’s content and share feedback. These groups are self-guided - but we’ll pop in from time to time *and* provide you with monthly storytelling activities to help you help one another.
-
An onboarding working session with Amy to pin down *your* story and quarterly follow up sessions to tackle ongoing challenges and opportunities.
-
Everything we have is yours! Our past workshops cover topics like using Canva for non-graphic designers, building communities, building revenue-generating products, and more.
Caveat: Every quarter, we take two weeks away from sharing our skills videos and prompts!

Hello, friend.
As a recovering lawyer turned serial entrepreneur, I know just how hard it can be to build the career or business you want. It can feel even harder as we head into the prime time of our lives and work, where we’re both juggling a million things and facing a stubborn wage gap, uncertain economy, glass ceilings and more.
And let’s be honest: We’re also dealing with a world that feels pretty uncertain. I remember asking myself over and over again: What if there is a lay off? What if my company downsizes? Is it possible that another pandemic will hit? Why can I buy insurance in case my house burns down, my car is totaled or my kid is sick - but I’m out of luck if I lose my job?
But it doesn’t have to be this way. You can put a down payment on your next pivot.
I believe women everywhere - like me - can shape the future of their own work by sharing their stories. We all have one. I’ve used storytelling to build my own start-up, raise $30 million in venture capital, launch a new company for an iconic legacy brand, land a column in Forbes, develop an iHeartMedia podcast, scale my own online audience to over 500,000, and drive millions in revenue.
I’m thrilled to share with you everything I’ve learned along the way and to connect you to my magical network of remarkable women who’ve done the same.
Maybe if we all change our own future, we can build a different future for women everywhere.
— Amy Nelson, Founder of The Riveter
