LAHORE: The Lahore Race Club witnessed an exhilarating day of racing on Sunday, as Set In Stone emerged victorious in the highly anticipated Zaheer-Ud-Din Babar Cup, leaving fellow competitors in its wake.
The underdogs showcased their prowess throughout the event, resulting in a series of unexpected outcomes. In a stunning first race upset, Super Power galloped ahead to claim victory, followed by a surprising second-place finish from Sikander Sapphire.
The podium was completed by the astonishing Gifts Of Gold, who secured a remarkable third. The trend of surprises continued in the second race as Public City pulled off an unexpected win. Mumraiz Prince managed to take second place, while the favoured Zaman Sahib took third place.
Another upset unfolded in the third race with Yesteryear taking the top spot. The favourite, Flying Fire, finished second, while Thunder Boy, expected to perform well, was third. In the fourth race, Zaheer-Ud-Din Babar Cup, the spotlight shone brightly on Set In Stone, who set a brisk pace to secure the championship. Status and Hero followed closely, finishing second and third, respectively. The day concluded with Suspicious One being the only favourite to live up to the billing. Desert Crown was second, and Purto Rico third.
