LAHORE: Pakistan’s Asjad Iqbal and Awais Muneer had strong starts at the IBSF World 6 Red Snooker Championship 2024, securing victories on the opening day in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Asjad Iqbal defeated Mongolia’s Ulziitogtokh Davaasuren 4-1, showcasing impressive skill with two breaks of 75. The frame scores were 50-18, 75-0, 82-0, 0-73, 64-0.
Awais Muneer came from behind to beat Mongolia’s Mendsaikhan Bat-Erdene 4-2. After trailing in two frames, Muneer fought back to claim victory. His frame scores were 64-0, 20-45, 0-54, 54-10, 53-21, 46-15.
On Sunday, Asjad will face India’s Pandurangaiah, and Awais will play Singapore’s Jia Jun Ong. In the evening, Asjad will meet Iraq’s Alijalil Ali, and Awais will take on Israel’s Shachar Ruberg. The championship features 40 players from around the world, divided into 10 groups.
