LAHORE: The Lahore Race Club (LRC) witnessed a day of thrilling races culminating in the much-anticipated Eid Cup on Saturday. Royal Crown’s win in the Eid Cup was a crowd-pleaser, while lesser-fancied horses like Bio Care, Blue Ash, and Kuwait Edition showcased their talent with unexpected wins and podium finishes.
In the opening race there was an upset with Al Mabrook defying expectations to be the winner, pushing favourite Salaar into third place. Jalthal, tipped for a surprise, managed to secure the second position. However, in the second race, Lalay De Jan, the crowd’s favourite, lived up to the hype by clinching a convincing victory. But a surprise came from Flying Fire and Capital City, who secured the second and third spots, respectively.
Royal Crown, the pre-race favourite, won the Eid Cup. Blue Ash surprised everyone with a strong performance, finishing second, while Flight Line, considered an outsider, managed a commendable third place. Lady Champion lived up to her name, dominating the final race and securing a well-deserved victory. Absolutely Not followed suit, securing the predicted second place, while Jack finished a close third.
