A man who killed his girlfriend and left her body in a snowy ditch while on supervised release from prison for murder has been jailed for life.
Mustafa Bush, 41, was imprisoned without the possibility of parole on Friday for the killing of mom-of-three Kimberly Robinson, 41. He was earlier found guilty of first-degree murder while committing domestic abuse and second-degree murder with intent.
Kimberlyâs body was found in a ditch in Olmsted County, Minnesota, on December 26, 2022. She had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. The district attorneyâs office said she had last seen alive at a Christmas Eve party two days earlier.
But she was discovered by a dog walker in the rural locality after the mutts started âpullingâ them towards âan area in the snow of the east ditch of West River Roadâ, according to a police statement at the time. As they got closer, the dog walker saw what they believed to be a personâs arm approximately 20 to 25 feet off the roadway on the embankment of the ditch.
Deputies from the sheriffâs office arrived soon after. They said they began a murder investigation after inspecting the condition of the body. Not long later, they identified Bush as a possible suspect in the case.
During his sentencing, prosecutors told the judge that due to his conviction for murder in 2006, he should never be allowed out of prison. They said, according to KTTC: âMr. Bush has previously been convicted of a murder, and itâs classified as a heinous crime. That was the triggering point that he will never get parole.â

Michele Branch, Kimberlyâs heartbroken cousin, said after the hearing: âWe lost a beautiful soul.â Her friend also told ABC6 News that Kimberly's family still needed time to heal following the terrible situation. She said: âNobody really won in this situation, everybody lost somebody in this situation. So I think itâs just at this time itâs letting the family heal on their own.â
A GoFundME page set up by Kimberlyâs family to raise money for her funeral service said she would have wanted people to âcelebrate her lifeâ. It said: âThis has been heartbreaking for the entire family and because she didnât have life insurance we are not able to afford a proper memorial service. I know that this is what my mom would want, for people to get together and celebrate her life. Kim leaves behind 3 kids."
