A 12-year-old boy has suffered horror injuries after his friends poured boiling water on his face during a sleepover.
The youngster is recovering in hospital from severe second-degree burns following the nightmare incident in Tifton, Georgia. He had gone to a friendâs home to stay over and play video games. But while he was sleeping, the other kids allegedly threw the scalding water at his face.
Three minors, who are between 12 and 15, are now facing charges for inflicting the nasty wounds. One of the victimâs friends claimed it was intended as a âprankâ.
The badly burned boyâs mom, Tiffany West, who is keeping his name anonymous, said she was furious following the tragedy. She told KCTV 5: âI mean, I really canât describe it now. In that moment, I was just mad, hurt, in shock, everything. I was seeing red. I was just trying to hurry up and get him some help.â

She said her son needed to have surgery due to the severity of his injuries, which are expected to take weeks to heal. She added: âHe was transported to the burn center in Augusta. He had to have surgery. Of course, he is out of surgery and is recovering at home now, but it is going to take him 12 to 14 days to heal.â

The boyâs aunt, Nachelle, said it was frightening that his friends were capable of hurting the child in such a barbaric way. She told KCTV 5: âYou got to be in shock to know your friends are capable of doing this to you, somebody you trusted. Itâs just horrible. He never thought something like this would happen to him.â
Nachelle said her family would now seek justice for the 12-year-old boy. She also said the incident had caused Tiffany to lose out of valuable income. She added: âMy brother and Tiffany have been out of work since this happened with all the traveling. She is still going to be out of work to take care of him while he is recovering. She needs to be here for him. Mentally, he is going to have to get counseling to be able to trust people again.â
Tiffany shared a Facebook post following the incident saying her son would pull through as he was a âwarriorâ. She penned: âI woke up to SO much LOVE being shown to my son! Words canât describe how Thankful I am for each & every one of you!
âIt brings tears to my eyes to know that SO many people care for me & my son & we are not alone in this! I drop to my knees every day Thanking God that my baby is still here & he is going to be ok bc it could have been worst!
