Fans confused as Jennifer Lopez seen with Ben Affleck hours before divorce settled

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have settled their divorce but there appears to be no bad blood.

Five months after the On The Floor singer filed for divorce from the Argo actor the two settled their highly-publicized split. But things seem to be okay as January 5 the two were seen together hours before the Golden Globes.

Jennifer and her child Emme, 16, were seen arriving at Ben's home in Los Angeles that day. In one photo, Jennifer hugged Ben's son that he shares with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, Samuel, 12 - giving the impression that she still remains close with her now ex-stepchildren.

People shared their thoughts in the comments section of the Daily Mail article about the ex-family reuniting. "I believe they had much love between them, but not enough compatibility to make their marriage work. BOTH of them are ‘broken’. If they are OK with this arrangement, it shouldn’t bother any of us," one fan wrote.

Another added: "Before all the pickle pusses comment on here, I have to say I’m glad to see this. At least they are being adults and civil."

However, some dreaded the possibility of the two getting back together. "No no no no. Please just no not this again, I’m exhausted and can’t cope," someone said.

A day after this encounter, Monday January 6, Jennifer filed documents in the Los Angeles Superior Court that showed the couple settled their divorce in September, a month after she filed. The divorce will officially be finalized on February 20 - six months to the day J.Lo filed for divorce.

Ben and Jennifer first dated in the early 2000s but broke up days before they were set to wed. The two rekindled their relationship in 2021, and a year later married in a Las Vegas chapel.

In early 2024, reports surfaced that the two were going through a rough patch in their relationship. It wasn't until August of that year, exactly two years after they tied the knot, that Jennifer filed for divorce.
