Well, Captain Smiles couldn't even do the bare minimum of having his team prepared to beat a middle school team last week. This comes just weeks after the team fell flat at home to a bad Seahawks team. After he cost the Falcons a Week 1 game against the Steelers by not playing starters in the preseason. So the team is being led by an individual and his buddy boy DC who clearly have zero NFL acumen and aren't cut out for the job. They are facing three straight teams that have playoff ambitions with far superior coaching staffs and front offices. Everything is being set up for a second half collapse. Collapse- a word this franchise is all to familiar with.
So that brings the question of what happens after this collapse? Where do the Falcons go from here? If Arthur "40 younger" Blank comes to his senses, the coaching staff and front office will be gone. Now you have to decide what to do with the roster. You can't just run it back with a group of players that can't win. You essentially have to tear the whole thing down and start over. Again. The only untouchables are London, Lindstrom, Bates, and Bergeron. Everyone else is up for grabs. That's what you have to do and during tough times, you need to make tough decisions. The inevitable collapse should open the door for doing so.
