GLASGOW, MONT. — The Dickinson State Blue Hawks secured a dominant 35-14 victory over NCAA Division II Minot State in a special dual meet Sunday, Jan. 5 in Montana. The Blue Hawks utilized three forfeits, four falls, and one technical-fall to power past the Beavers in a commanding performance.

"It was an amazing opportunity to showcase women's wrestling out here in Glasgow, Montana tonight," DSU head coach Tyson Springer said. "After a long layoff from last semester to now it was great to see the team pick up where we left off at the end of last semester. Now we have a couple days to recover, and we take on NCAA D2 Chadron Thursday night in Rapid City then finish off the week at home in a double dual. It's a busy week and we look forward to being home next Sunday in front of our home crowd."

At 180 pounds, Nina Sandoval earned a pin over freshman Lena-Mae Nelson in 50 seconds, and in the final bout of the dual, Madilyn Schuck delivered the fastest fall of the meet, pinning sophomore Hayla Hoffman at 207 pounds in just five seconds. Despite these efforts, the Beavers were unable to recover from Dickinson State's early dominance.
