Raymond, John R. II, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024 in Tulsa, OK. John R. Raymond, II was born on July 20, 1957, in Frankfurt, Germany where his father was stationed with the U.S. Army. He lived with his family in Montana, Germany, and Virginia before moving to Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, his family’s home.
After high school graduation he moved to Owasso, Oklahoma to attend Spartan School of Aeronautics, where he earned his A&P license. It was there that he met his beloved wife of 42 years, DeAnna, whom he married in 1982. He worked for Petroleum Helicopters in Lafayette, LA before returning with DeAnna to Owasso to work for American Airlines, from which he retired in 2020 with 30 years of employment.
John was a special, generous man who was much loved and touched the lives of so many. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, who he loved dearly and enjoyed spending time with. He loved music, working with computers and technology, and his Tesla, which he enjoyed customizing and making his own. He especially enjoyed spending time with DeAnna and their puppies, Chewy and Ling Ling.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Meche Raymond, and his father, John T. Raymond.
John is survived by his wife, DeAnna, his sisters Renee and Carol, his nephew Johnny and his wife Joy, and his great-niece, Sadie Laine. He is also survived by his wife’s family who have very much become his family in the 47 years since he and DeAnna met, his mother-in-law Marlene, nieces Alicia and her husband Sean, Emily and her husband Todd, great-nephews Greyson and Jase, and great-niece Charlotte.
Visitation will be from 5PM – 7PM, Monday, November 25, 2024 at Moore’s Southlawn, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral Service will be at 1:30PM, Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Moore’s Southlawn Chapel. Moore Southlawn 918-663-2233 share memories at www.moorefuneral.com
