Memorial services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 1:00 PM Service in Asbury United Methodist Church in Lafayette for Syble Cruse, age 82, who passed away on November 10, 2024.

Inurnment will be held in Asbury United Methodist Church Columbarium in Lafayette.

Reverend Susan M. Ferguson will officiate at the services.

Survivors include her son, Matt Cruse and his wife Phyllis; three grandchildren, Connor Cruse, Courtney Cruse, and Drew Stokes and his wife Alison; one brother, Dan Putman and his wife Mary.

Preceded in death by her husband, Mark Cruse; parents, Dewey and Dean Putman; brother, Buddy Putman.

A longtime resident of Lafayette, Syble was a dedicated member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she was active in both spiritual and community life. Her faith was a central pillar of her life, and she found great joy in supporting her church family.

Syble was also a passionate lover of tennis, regularly hitting the courts in spirited matches with friends and family. Her competitive spirit was matched only by her kindness and encouragement to others. Outside of tennis, Syble was an avid gardener, often found tending to her plants and enjoying the peace that came from working in the soil.

Her love for nature extended beyond her garden-Syble was also an enthusiastic hunter and fisherman. Whether she was enjoying a quiet day by the lake or embarking on a challenging hunting trip, she found great joy in the simplicity and beauty of the outdoors.

She was known for her generous heart, her sense of humor, and her ability to make those around her feel special. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a life well lived. Most importantly, she cherished moments spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Connor Cruse, Drew Stokes, Dan Putman, Gary Broom, and Jason Cruse.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Martin & Castille’s - SOUTHSIDE location.
