CHIBA, Japan — This year’s Tokyo Comic Con, held over the weekend at Makuhari Messe Convention Center just east of the city center, kicked off with a traditional Japanese ceremony featuring celebrity guests, including Jason Mamoa, star of “Aquaman” and the upcoming “Minecraft” movie.

Between Friday and Sunday, the celebrities and voice actors from franchises like Marvel and Stars Wars took the stage for deep-dive discussions about their previous, current and upcoming projects.
