CO₂ emission intensity in the Middle East 2000-2023
The carbon dioxide emissions intensity in the Middle East was 0.39 kilograms per U.S. dollar (kCO₂/$15p) in 2023. The Middle East's CO₂ emissions intensity has increased by more than five percent since 2000, and is now the second-highest CO₂ intensity worldwide, behind only the CIS. The Middle Eastern country Kuwait had the world's highest CO₂ intensity in 2023, at 0.75 kCO₂/$15p.
