Leading countries in wind energy capacity in Africa 2023

South Africa had the largest wind energy capacity in Africa as of 2023, reaching just over 3.4 gigawatts. This corresponded to over 39 percent of Africa's total wind energy capacity that year. Egypt and Morocco followed, with roughly 1.89 gigawatts and 1.86 gigawatts of wind energy capacity.
