Self-Pollinating Pecan Trees
Self-Pollinating Pecan Trees Buyer's Guide
Self-pollinating pecan trees have a tendency to produce nuts without requiring the pollen of another pecan variety. This is due to an overlap in their own pollen shed and pistil (flower) receptivity. A self-pollinating pecan tree, even in an exemplary growing environment, will produce better quality, well-filled kernels when pollinated by a compatible pecan tree. These self-pollinating varieties are ideal if you are limited on space and still want to grow your own pecan trees.
