NEWER VACCINES LIST
(According to annual report of 2022-23 Health ministry, Govt. Of India)

• Measles-Rubella vaccine
• Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine(PCV)
• Rotavirus Vaccine (RVV)
• Japanese Encephalitis (JE) Vaccine
• Tetanus & adult Diphtheria (Td) vaccine
• fIPV3 (fractional Inactivated polio virus)
MEASLES-RUBELLA VACCINE
• In September 2019, the WHO South-East Asia Region
resolved to eliminate measles and rubella by 2023.

PNEUMOCOCCAL CONJUGATE VACCINE
(PCV)
• Introduced in India on May 2017.
• From 2017-20, introduced in 5 states only(Not
in Tamilnadu)
• From 2021, expanded in all states in India.

ROTA VIRUS VACCINE (RVV)
• Till 2018, RVV introduced only in 11 states
including Tamilnadu
• After 2019, RVV expanded in all over India.
• Dosage Rotavac 5 drops(Liquid vaccine)
 Rotasill 2.5 ml (Lyophilized Vaccine)
• When to give – 6th 10th & 14th weeks
• Route - Oral
JAPANESE ENCHEPHALITIS
(JE VACCINE)
• Introduced in all endemic areas* in India (For
example: IN THANJAVUR DISTRICT)

TETANUS AND ADULT DIPHTHERIA
(Td) VACCINE
• Introduced by NTAGI (National Technical
Advisory Group Immunization) in 2016.
• It has replaced 2 doses of TT (or) Single
booster dose TT in pregnancy.
• Even it replaced booster doses at 10 and 16
years of age.
• Route – IM
• Site – Upper arm
fIPV3
(fractional Inactivated polio virus)

• Introduced by NTAGI to National Immunization


Schedule since 01/01/2023.
• Route – Intradermal
• When to give – Along with MRCV-1 (9-12
months)
• IPV – 1 & 2 = Two fractional doses at 6 and 14
weeks (0.1 ml Intradermal) @ RIGHT UPPER
ARM
PENTAVALENT VACCINE
• Three doses at 6th 10th and 14th weeks
• Dosage – 0.5 ml
• Route – IM
• Site – Anterolateral side of mid thigh
HPV VACCINE
• After 9 years of age (Females only)
• 2 doses in 6 months interval.
• Not included in NIS so far.
TYPHOID VACCINE
• TCV (Tybar) – After 6 months; Single dose; No
booster needed.
• Vi PS – After 2 years; Single dose; Booster
dose needed every 3 years.
• Ty 21a – 3 to 4 doses in single day interval;
Booster dose needed every 3-7 years.
