    BASEMENT CASE STUDY -CENTRAL MALL,UNIVERSITY

    Central mall is located in the shivaji nagar Entry to the basement


    area of pune.

    LAYOUT OF BASEMENT -

    Basement plan B1 Basement plan B2

    • Entry to the basement is from front side of the building. The road running through
    periphery of site.
    • There are two number of basements i.e. B1 and B2.
    • Basement B1 having four wheelers parking. Basement B2 having two wheelers parkin
    • B1 having 3m height And B2 having 3.5m height.
     RAMP RATIO -
    • Ramp having gradient 1:10 which is from B1 going to B2.
    • B1 having 24 no. of car parking. For one car parking 3m x 6m Space provided and
    7m of driveway provided.
    • F B2 having 150 no. of bikes parking and 5m of gangway provided.

     CIRCULATION PLAN
     SERVICES-
    1. LIGHT AND VENTILATION

    AC Duct in B2 Natural Ventilation in B1


    • For ventilation AC ducts provided in Basement 2, i.e. in two wheeler parking
    and Basement 1 doesn’t have AC ducts.
    • AC ducts running along the driveways of B2. No natural light used in B2.
    • B1 having natural light from openings provided above ramp.

    2. FIRE FIGHTING

    Sprinkler system in B1 and B2

    • Fire fighting system is provided in both


    B1 and B2.
    • Sprinklers provided at 3m center to
    center.
    • Fire fighting system running above the
    parking lanes.

    3. ELECTRIC LAYOUT

    Electric wiring is provided on tray which is running throughout the periphery


    of the basement.

    4. GENERATOR ROOM

    Location of generator room


    Generator room provided in Basement 1 near exit of the Basement. Other
    services such as electric substation, fire fighting etc provided outside the
    basement.
