environment, please keep the following “DO’s
and DON’Ts” in mind:

10
The DO’s
11
DO’s
 This is a virtual classroom, therefore, appropriate classroom
behavior is expected. Be polite, be respectful and be nice to
everyone.
 Dress like you are coming to the classroom—wear your uniform,
proper hygiene, and grooming.
 Log into your class from a clean, distraction-free, quiet
environment.

12
DO’s
 Let all household members know when and where you will be in
class and ask them not to disturb you.
 Make sure your full name shows up appropriately.
 Please keep your mic on mute until you want to speak. This will
help to limit background noise.
 If you would like to speak or answer a question, use the “Raise
Hand” feature. Then unmute yourself once I get you recognized.

13
DO’s
 Consider using a headset with an external mic for best hearing
and speaking capabilities.
 Close unneeded applications on your computer to optimize the
video quality.
 When you are speaking, let others know that you are finished by
saying something like, “That’s all,” or “I’m done,” or “Thank
you,” so that everyone knows you have finished your comments,
then you can mute your mic again.

14
DO’s
 If you would like to use the chat box, remember that it is public,
and a record of the chat may be kept and archived.
 Make sure that your video must always be turned on, so your
teacher and classmates can see you. This will also account your
presence in the attendance record.
 Turn off/silence cell phone and close other windows on your
computer.

15
DO’s
 Pay attention! Maintain eye contact with the speaker on the
screen.
 Be prepared to take notes (on your computer or in a designated
notebook) or to access your materials (textbook, course page, or
readings available).

finished.
