WORK ENVIRONMENT
 Workplace phenomenon all over the world.
 One major reason for employee turnover is the working
environment.
 A better working environment attracts the employees
towards the firm.
 A company can achieve a stronger position with a good
working environment, with both employees and the
community.
 The purpose of the study is to understand the working
conditions at Kayamkulam thermal power station and to
study in detail the perception of the employees towards
the various facilities provided by the firm.
OBJECTIVES
 To understand the working conditions at Kayamkulam thermal
power station

 To study in detail the perception of the employees towards the


various facilities provided by the firm
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
 PRIMARY DATA:

Direct interview & questionnaire


 SECONDARY DATA:

Websites, articles and magazines


 SAMPLE SIZE: 120

Population :400
 SAMPLING METHOD:
Convenience sampling ,snowball sampling.
 Tools used:
Simple percentage method.
Limitations
The sample size was confined to 120 respondents.
The entire study is based on the information provided
by the respondents, which may be biased .
Time was a major constraint from the side of the
respondents.
DATA ANALYSIS &
INTERPRETATION

Interpretation :

90% of the respondents strongly agreed that the Canteen provided by the organization is
good

85 % respondent’s strongly agreed that the safety accessories provided in the organization is good

Interpretation :
80% respondents strongly agreed that the first aid kit facility in the organization is good.

Interpretation :
50% strongly agreed that the social security provided by the organization is good, 30%
agreed while 10 % disagreed, 5 % strongly disagreed and the rest 5 % were neutral.

Interpretation :
20% of the respondents agreed that the transportation facilities provided to them is good
while the majority 75% disagreed with this and 5% remained neutral.
FINDINGS
 The work environment at Kayamkulam Thermal
Power Plant is satisfactory for the employees.
 The employees are highly concerned with safety and
hygiene factors which is evident from the analysis
 The employees are highly satisfied with the canteen
facilities and the least satisfied is the transportation
facility provided to them.
 The employees are provided with the most modern
safety accessories
CONCLUSION
 An overall picture of the power plant can be
understood from the study. Though the organization
operates as per the Government norms there is
disparity among the employees. Areas like canteen,
safety accessories are really taken good care and the
employees are extremely happy with these. All these
factors acts as a boon to the company.
 In spite of all this, the overall satisfactory level is
high among the employees.
RECOMMENDATIONS
The company can come up with new measures to upgrade
the sanitary bathing and cleaning facilities as there is
dissatisfaction among the employees.
Provisions can be provided for recreational activities.
More water purifiers can be provided by the company.
Meetings and awareness programs can be conducted by
the company in order to make the employees updated
with all the provisions provided by the company.
Transportation facility should be made available to all the
employees.
