DARK WASH JEANS:
• Jeans were invented by Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss in 1873 and are worn still but in a
different context. Jeans are named after the city of Genoa in Italy, a place where cotton
corduroy, called either jean or jeane, was manufactured. Light wash = lighter colored. Dark
wash = dark colored.
• Jeans, Denim, Blue Jeans, whatever you call them – the bottom line is that they’re a staple in
every man’s wardrobe.
•  They work for nearly all occasions outside of a formal setting and look good with virtually
everything.

POLO SHIRTS:
• While the earliest known roots of polo reach back as far as 6th century B.C., the modern
form of the horseback sport can be traced back to the 19th Century India. British military
men stationed in Manipur, a state in Northeast India, adopted polo from Indian natives and
brought it back to the U.K. where it became synonymous with wealth, royalty, and the
upper-class.
• Inspired by this was John E. Brooks of the successful Brooks Brothers firm, who noticed
the players’ improvisational collar solution while visiting England in the late 1800s.
•  Brooks Brothers introduced the first mass-marketed ‘polo shirt’ by debuting the ‘The
Original Button-Down Polo Shirt’ in 1896.
FAD:

FAD can be denoted as Short Lived Fashion.

It is acceptable by very small group of people and after a certain time it fades away.
Following are few examples of FAD:

•  Socks with open footwear.

• Saree with sports shoes.
• Skirt Leggings.
SOCKS WITH OPEN FOOTWEAR:

• The earliest evidence of wearing socks and sandals is documented at the archaeological
site between Dishforth and Leeming in North Yorkshire, England.

• The discovery suggests that old Romans wore socks with sandals, probably to keep their
feet warm, at least 2,000 years ago.
SAREE WITH SPORTS SHOES:
• This trend started around 2016-17 but now could be seen
nowhere.

• The trend was popular among actress like Kangana Ranaut,

Sonam Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Rekha, they were seen
wearing saree along with shoes.
SKIRT LEGGINGS:
• This trend came in around 2017-18 but not
many people accepted it.

• PUMA company launched a skirt leggings

themed outfit but were sold least.
STYLE:
Style is one’s appearance just the way they like it. One’s style of clothing represents the work
they do or gives a different aura.
Example:-

• Vintage Style
• Bohemian Style
• Tomboy Fashion Style
VINTAGE STYLE:
• It is a blast from the past. From flapper dresses to
pinup clothing and from retro swimwear to indie
clothing, the vintage look is a culmination of
fashion from the 20’s to the 70’s. It is the one
trend that overcame the test of time.
BOHEMIAN STYLE:

• The best way to describe bohemian would be to use

the word non-traditional. A style which is similar to
arty, bohemian style uses extravagant and wild patterns
on exotic textures. It can be characterized as an
inspiration from gypsy and hippie looks. It is more
commonly referred to as ‘Boho’.
BOHO
TOMBOY FASHION STYLE:
• Most of their clothing are a bit baggy and focuses
more on graphic T-Shirts and Shirts from the boy’s
selection. They do not prefer light colors and frills or
laces. It can ask so be described as simple and modern.
A boyish look is what they prefer over the classy,
elegant looks.
TREND:
Trends popular these days are as follows:

• Puffy Sleeves
• Pleats
• Feathers
PUFFY SLEEVES:

• Puffy Sleeves 2020. So the puffy sleeves 2020 are

mainly done with dresses or blouses. The puffy
sleeves are combined with bows, ruffles or other
details that enhances a more romantic look. What's
great with the puffy sleeves are their voluminous style,
which adds a statement to any outfit.
PLEATS:

• A pleat (older plait) is a type of fold formed by

doubling fabric back upon itself and securing it in place. It is
commonly used in clothing and upholstery to gather a wide
piece of fabric to a narrower circumference.

• Pleats are categorized as pressed, that is, ironed or otherwise

heat-set into a sharp crease, or unpressed, falling in soft
rounded folds. Pleats sewn into place are called tucks.
FEATHERS:
• In the 20th century, feathers made a splash in fashion during the
flapper era, as dresses were festooned with feathers to create more
movement. Entertainers, too, used feather boas to enhance their
performances.

• We’re still inspired by the feather in our fashion today. While it

may not be practical to wear head-to-toe feathers on an everyday
basis, it’s always fun to play with the feathers-as-fashion trend.
