Basic Principles to maximize the chances of new believers
in reaching maturity:
Four Fundamental Principles
An Understanding of Similar temptation patterns
A focus on the 1st 3 months of a believer's walk
One-on-one relationship
Four Fundamental Principles
“ Christianity is a relationship with Jesus, and all good
relationships have discipline. Without discipline,
relationships will not grow and mature”
Four Fundamental Principles
“All other religions believe that you must work hard in order
to earn God's Love; In Christianity God already loves you
and sen Jesus to die for your sins (John 3:16)”
Four Fundamental Principles
“We do not need to prove our self worthy before God
because we are never worthy, we are saved because of
God's Grace”
“As Christians we need to repay God's grace by maintaining
a good relationship with God. We have to discipline
ourselves and grow in His love.”
Four Fundamental Principles
1) Prayer
2) Bible Study
3) Fellowship
4) Discipleship
An Understanding of Similar Temptation Patterns
“ALL new believers have the same temptations”
“You would'nt teach a 3-year old Calculus, and you would'nt
discuss potty training with a sixteen year old. The
instruction must match the development”
An Understanding of Similar Temptation Patterns
“ALL new believers experience doubts and discouragement
and it is our responsibility to guide them towards maturity”
The First 3 months
• Most believers walk away from faithfulness within 3
months of their confession.
• The 1st three months is critical for a new believers.
• As an elder Christian we need to gain their friendship and
friends do not leave eah other.
One-on-One Relationship
• The most effective discipleship is one-on-one relationship
• As a Christian and as a friend if your disciple will not
show up you will have to look and find out what happens.
