Diplomatic power refers to a president's authority to engage in foreign relations, such as making treaties, granting recognition to other states, and maintaining diplomatic exchanges. What is DIPLOMATIC POWER?
 According to Johnson(2015),
Diplomatic powers are those
powers that allow the president
to form and maintain
relationships with foreign
countries.
 It is also the power to deal with
foreign states and governments,
extend or withhold recognition, This power includes:
maintain diplomatic relations, 1. the power to make treaties
enter into treaties and otherwise 2. executive agreements
transact the business of foreign 3. the power of recognition
relations (Tabilog, 2014).
Diplomatic history in the Philippines
 During the Ramos years were the adoption by ASEAN
in 1992, the declaration on the South China Sea
aimed at confidence-building and the avoidance of
conflict among claimant states: the establishments of
the Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the
Philippines(BIMP)-East Asia Growth area in 1994: the
establishment of the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) in
1994 as the only multilateral security dialogue in the
Asia-Pacific region conducted at the government
and the signing between the Philippine Government
and the MNLF on September 2, 1996 of the Mindanao
Peace Agreement.
